Beautiful Cliff
Unlike a typical single-drop waterfall, Kalela tumbles down a stepped, holey rock face that almost looks like the mouth of a cave. The water discharge is gentle, which means you can stand right beneath it and let it fall over your shoulders like a natural shower. It’s a striking, sculptural sight and easily the most photographed feature here.

Getting to Kalela is part of the journey. If you’re coming all the way from Sumbawa Besar, expect roughly a three-hour drive covering around 130 kilometres. From Taliwang, you’re much closer, at about a 30 to 45-minute drive to the village, followed by the short trek in.
